Building the Ondol Floor

Our building site screamed Ondol (with a bit of a West Coast accent:) after it was finally fully hand excavated.

This photo shows what the terrain looked like before the heating tunnel was begun.  We are looking down the natural rock opening that will guide us with the rock foundation and cob walls for the tunnel...which you'll see growing in the next photos...
